The HL Group has progressed significantly over the last few years and it has become a key player in the heavy equipment, marine and transportation industry, striving to provide a complete range of value-added heavy lifting logistics services to our customers with safety, efficiency and competitive pricing.
In 1980, the Group started with one of its first companies, Hup Leck Crane and Transport Services, that was formed with three partners: Mr. Thng Kian Tong, Mr. Leow Boon Tiam, and Mr. Tan Eng Lai. It started its business operation with a locally-made 15 tonne mobile truck crane. Its principal activities then were heavy haulage and heavy lifting. Since then, the Group has grown in size with substantial capital investment in plant and equipment, increased employment of employees, and enlarged offices and industrial spaces. Currently, the Group provides services such as heavy haulage and lifting, tug & barge rental, inland & marine transportation, engineering, trading, building & construction equipment rental, warehousing services, handling of dangerous & explosive cargoes among others.
